Grant Application Procedures

1. Only complete applications submitted on or before September 12, 2008 will be considered. We strongly suggest submitting your grant application well before so that we may respond to you with any questions you might have.
2. Please review our Granting Guidelines.
3. If your grant request meets these guidelines, please email at GrantInfo@nearandfar.org to receive a user id and password. If you already have a user id
   and password from a previous grant application, you do not need a new one.
4. After receiving a user id and password, please fill out the On-Line Application in its entirety and Post-Grant Evaluation if funding was received in the prior year.

Once you have obtained your user id and password, come back to this page and click on the link below to go to the login screen. In order to save time, we recommend downloading a copy of our application in the WORD version available below, save it to your own computer by choosing ‘Save As’. Fill it out offline, then cut and paste it onto our on-line application. By saving the Microsoft Word version to your computer first, you will be less likely to time out when you are on-line and will also have a copy of your application for your reference.

Applications will only be accepted through the online application process. Mailed applications will not be considered. If your organization does not have the capability to apply on-line, please e-mail our Projects Review Chairman at GrantInfo@nearandfar.org to learn how to obtain help to prior to September 1st.

Our application requires that you scan and convert into electronic files your financial statements, 501(c)(3) declaration and budget. These files are required for your application to be considered complete. Please scan these documents so their size does not exceed 1-2 MB. Do not attach newsletters or additional documents.

Application Tips

1. The user id and password are case sensitive.
2. Our system does not accept apostrophes in file names when one is trying to upload a document.
3. We accept supporting documents in Word, Excel or PDF with the corresponding file name extensions .doc, .xls and .pdf.

Review and Notification Process

1. Applications are reviewed monthly from October through May.
2. If your grant request meets our guidelines, you will be contacted by a Board member for review before June based on the order of the categories above.
3. Notification of approval or denial will be made on a rolling basis throughout the Near & Far
   Aid granting cycle beginning in October and ending in June.
4. Grant requests are funded by Near & Far Aid on or about February 1st and June 1st.
