Near & Far Aid finds and funds programs which address the causes and effects of poverty including: lack of education, homelessness, hunger, domestic abuse, substance abuse, mental illness and disability, teen pregnancy, crime, psycho-social issues, availability of health care, access to information and select other categories.

Our comprehensive approach to preventing and alleviating the causes and effects of poverty means diligent funding research.

We review, research and personally visit well over 150 agency applicants each year, to fund some of the most exciting and innovative new agencies, effective and established well-known agencies and some small but highly effective grass roots agencies that are making a positive difference in the lives of thousands.

We are a unique volunteer organization that annually raises and distributes funds to almost 90 highly qualified 501(c)3 charitable agencies addressing our mission. We have no paid administrators or office space, such that our administrative costs remain low. We raise funds each year through Donations and our event subscription program ‘First Families’, and our four fundraising events; the Golf Classic, the Spring Gala at Mitchells, our Designer House Tour & Preview Party, and our Polo Classic. Since 2000, we have granted over $6.9 million to improve the lives of children, families and individuals in Fairfield County.
